^^ uve heard of a castrato?
the thing is that boys with great voices were castrated before they hit puberty to retain their high pitch and avoid voice changes that occur...that was in the some classical era i forgot.
i had to study all that crap in college.

    just some general info..hahha..

  12. alpha1

    alpha1 I BLUES!

    I know.
and then they were also used for miscellaneous purposes. (KY jelly anyone?)

  13. abhijitnath

    abhijitnath Fighting GAS frantically

Yeah..thats post Baroque opera. Parts in Rossini's 'Barber of Seville' among other pieces are no longer performed because there are no castrati any more.
What did you study in college btw? And where?

  14. abhijitnath

    abhijitnath Fighting GAS frantically

Dude..they were church castrati. Choir boys..servants of god and all that (not that that means anything:)). So officially they were only used to sing :p:

Yeah....the book is much better btw...the movie is quite crap in front of it..they cut out a lot of subplots and back story.
And yeah, Ed Norton choirboy and all that..I know what you mean

I also wanted to referr to the book. I have not seen the movie. However, usually more ppl know about the movie than the novel, hence, ......

More than Keith Richards, you should consider Ron Wood. He is the Rhythm Player for Rolling Stones.

I consider Rudolf Schenker also good with rhythms.
