Yes it is a real story and it happens to me .

About some weeks back I select a song's chord from this forum .
the Guy who posted it according to him it is 100% correct that's why
    I select that song.

It's origional scale is Em according to that guy who posts it .

I went to my music school and play it in the front of my teacher by
telling him that I got it from the internet.

After hearing the song my teacher told me that I'm the foolest boy of the
institute cause I cann't differeniate between MAJAR and MINOR scale .
My teacher told me that this is a major scale song and its origional scale
    is G .

And now I'm here to just request to all of those guys who submit chords
that please at least select the correct scale ( MAJOR or MINOR ) cause lots
of guys follow you and if you make such mistake it is not just you but all
    of us will be misguided.

And yes if anyone of you know who submits correct chords please tell me.

    - Thanks everyone

Hey dude just tell me the name of that guy so all of us get aware of him.

It is really sad that if a guy who cann't recognise major or minor scale
submits chord to mislead all of us.

    Hi vinayak ,

For chords I mainly prefer to visit visorchestragrp chord section , mainly due
to 2 reasons first they are very accurate ( atleast according to me ) and
secondly they submit all the chords at the same place, so it is easy to find
    out.

Well read up about relative minor scales.
And also learn to use your ears to check the scale, because you can generally (forgive me for putting this so simply) hear if the song is sad or happy.

What do you mean by that ?

Well may be I'm not as good as you in playing guitar but can you please tell
me what do you mean by use your ears to know the song is sad or happy.

Can you please tell me what is the scale of song -
'Dard main bhi ye lab muskura jaate hain' from movie The Train.

Well both sad and happy song use major and minor scale .
There is no such theory in Indian music that tells you that sad song use
minor scale while happy song use major scale .

It only works in western songs.

    Hey guys ,

I think this is a good topic for debait but all of you use it for passing
    comments on each other .
I'm in my Medical col. CPU room thats why I'm unable to figure it out the
correct scales but check this list guys -

Dost dost na raha - Minor scale
Tadap tadap ke iss dil se aah nikalti rahi - Major scale
Aaja re ab mera dil pukaara - Minor
    Dil toodne waale - Major
Tera jaana dil ke armaanon ka lut jaana - Minor
Jaane kahan gaye woh din - Minor
Aankh hai bhari bhari aur tum -Major
Aaine ke sau tukde - minor
dono ne kiya tha pyar magar - minor
der na ho jaaye kahin der na ho jaaye - minor
jaane walon jara mudd ke dekho idhar - major
poocho na kaise maine rain bitae - major
kasme vaade pyar wafa sab - major
    ALL SAD SONGS-----------------

pyar hua ikraar hua hai - minor
    chalia mera naam - minor
dum dum diga diga - minor
    begaani shaadi mein - minor
ruk ja o jaanewaali ruk ja - minor
    ALL HAPPY SONGS-------------

So see yourself where such theory lies .

May be scales of one or two are wrong but the main thing is that you cann't
choose the scale of a song based on the sad / happy theory.

I totally agree with you man, i also don't know the scales you've written are right or wrong, but in my opinion its not right to think that sad songs are minor and happy songs are in the major scale.
I even don't know if there is a theory to figuring out the scale whether its a minor ar a major scale, in my opinion its just a matter of listening and that you'll get with alot of experience i guess!!!

Hat's Off Man Great Work .........

    Great research man .

For those who theories based on books, my hint you don't need to hear
the song just just buy a book and be a musician .

May be next time I will share some popular theories of music( Chords) that
some time works and some time not.

You all do realize that most of the people on the first page were the same person?

Out of curiousity, why does anyone even need to decide whether a song is in G Major or E minor?

What a idotic point is this Bjr ?
If you want to play the chord then you have to know atleast the
    correct scale .
Do you want to play Em Chords in place in G major while the scale is
    G major , how idiotic.

Scale pata hone se kum se kum ek chord to theek bajega, aage ka to
    kya batayen ?
