I have an avi file which doesn't open with my windows media player 10. It shows that my media player tries to download a codec but fails. the microsoft website has a few codecs but i suppose wmp 10 has them all already? Any suggestions on what I can do?

or it could be xvid. get a codec information utility, such as videoinspector.
