despising microsoft has become so fashionable! How many of u really got pissed off with windows, moved to another OS, and actually liked it and stuck to it? The only change I've made from microsoft which I actually liked and found the alternative better is mozilla firefox to IE. (all the previous like opera sucked. netscape is the biggest sucker of them all). even firefox has its niggles and is not perfect, but its one thing better than IE.
I won't badmouth MS...Yeah IE interface IS actually better than Netscape...I prefer to have the best of both worlds..!!
i've moved to linux SuSE 9.0 and liked it better than windose. .. i use windows only when i need to do my lab work on MATLAB . . otherwise i am on linux
me. i moved to mac osx and everythign about it is better.. stability UI, and now its gained enough acceptance that 3rd party ppl are writing support software for it. its a different thing that none of the websites form india work on anything except Micro$oft. like raaga.com etc dont work on my mac.. i can live with that. in anycase i dont despise microsoft. bill gates is the greates philanthropist in the world. msft is one of the best employers in the world. its just that their products suck most of the time and i dont believe in thier monopoloizing business tactics. but as an ex employee i can vouch for the fact that they r a wonderful employer, liek tobaco companies.. if u work for oil or tobacco company.. u would be totally loyal to your company... and they treat u really well. this is something like that.

I like Microsoft Windows XP. Fits my needs perfectly and see no reason to move to Linux or anything else for that matter.
very true ... Longhorn is the next version of Windows and will replace XP in the same way XP has replaced Windows 2000 as the latest operating system.
seems like longhorn is goin to be much better then xp in many ways , check out sharukh thread on it , i am sure it would be very educatin for the new o/s ...
I Use Windows XP Professional though Windows 98 is much better. :rock: And for the much awaited Windows Longhorn....yes...It is supposd to be good, but the system requirements are really high ( i mean it..really high ). So if u want to use it, i think ull have to buy a whole new computer with pre-installed Windows Longhorn...else no use.
Well, I used to use Windows 98 before XP but after installing XP I didn't ever use 98 again. I know that 98 runs faster on slow machines but XP's look and stability is really very good.
Xp is nice...but who the H E L L cares about the looks...nobody is coming and giving a trophy to the best lookin DESKTOP... But XP is far too ahead of win.98 in case of User-Friendliness and Help topics...but some of the old softwares and games don't run on XP>> thaz the biggest problem :think:
Some people like me do care about looks. But you know that there was a contest in Digit mag in which you had to mail them a screenshot of your desktop and if they liked it then you would win a cool device or something (I don't remember what but it what cool). It all depends on a person's choices. And some of the new softwares like iTunes don't work on Windows 9x.
