Im not too sure, but I think it means a section played with just hammers ons/pull offs (but not a trill) Check out this file's starting, the notations are similiar...but they have specified whether there are hammer-ons or pull-offs...your notation is incomplete, or maybe I'm wrong. Someone please clarify?
