It is a piano piece. He's translated it to guitar...unfortunately loses most of the playing dynamics in theprocess...but cool to watch
that was real cool!!! And for all those who were wondering how the hell this guy plays without a single open note. Look at the second fret again. THE DUDE HAS CHEATED!! He mutes the strings with a cloth!!!!! But i still respect him for the right and left hand coordination
All tap-style guitar players play with a muting thing on the first or second fret to prevent unwanted ringing...Jennifer Batten, Steve Lynch, Stanley Jordan etc. No matter how good you are, you can't effectively mute strings while tapping across strings. In fact I remember seeing a studio vid of Petrucci doing alt picking with a cloth on the frets to sound cleaner.
