The old guitar customs duty question

    500USD per visit. however, don't worry too much about it. In case you have many more things to carry back, and the value (according to their bills) go above that, you can always take the customs guy aside and give him 500 bucks. Or you can decide to pay duty @ 40% on the value exceeding 500USD.

    Many times, you say its a guitar, and they never say anything. You could bring in a les paul and say its for 10K, they never question, cos they never know anything about guitar prices, they have bigger fish to fry.

    dude if its just a guitar of personal use then its not a problem at all. i have taken mine to and fro to UK dude nothing. i went with a tansen and then i came back with an ESP(cost me abt 370 pounds). So wouldnt be a problem if it looks like ur personal guitar. if at all you face some problems then be sure u ask advice from the the others in IGT. as such i did not face any problems.
