Wow, brings back some memories. I used to play keyboard to accompany their bengali songs for Dashera and Saraswathi pooja circa 1995-97. The bengalis gather here at the Tagore Cultural Center here in Bangalore. What I have noticed, is that, they are the only ones who call keyboards as "synthesizers." LOLZ:
i call a synthesizer a synthesizer. I have one analog sunthesizer the korg ms2000B it rocks. back inthose days all the music keyboards were "synthesizers" anlaog synthesis or FM (in ther 80s) like yamaha dx 7. thats why synthesizers were synonymous with music keyboards.. nowadays u have a variety of sound synthesis techologies.. plus sample playback stuff. most keyboards incorporate a comination of all these various tehcnologies.. so the you just call them music workstations these days, or just keyboard.. which covers a wide range of instruments.
