Yes as someone suggested need to use Bminor in place of DMaj

This song looks like in G-ionian. So Bminor falls right in the scale. But the depressing feel is brought at the end of the first line with B Maj.

I use Dmaj and Eminor inplace of Bmin and C.

Use C and Cm

I think every1 has missed the Cm after the C which is the crux of the feeling.

I'm not sure about Cm instead of Bm in the regular lines but in the slower lines like..
Jo [C]Kehna Hai Tum [Cm]Dheere Se Keh Do[G] [D]
and
[C]Inn Yaadon Ko Sap[Cm]no Mein Rehne Do[G] [D]

these must be the chords.
Moreover, C and Cm give the same effect for the Green Day song "Wake me up when September ends" ..
Infact i think all the same chords can be used there 2.
I think Strings has lifted the whole style of the song from Green Day

shishir, i think the Cm fits in bautifully...in fact,it gives d feel of d song...anyway,none of the above posts seem to be accurate n i'm being unable to figure out d exact chords as well...

 

Nothing special

I think there is a G5 chord used somewhere. Not exactly G5, but some variation of the G Major chord. Someone posted the 100% accurate chords for this song some months ago. It included a variation of G Major. The chords sounded perfect but i can't find them. These chords are okay too, specially the one with the B minor chord along.
