Which Album do you consider teh best including his works with diff bands like Alcatrazz, Whitesnake etc. And which song u feel is his masterpiece. This d00d is hell lot talented. And technically one of te most proficient players of our times. Unfortunately most of his musical pieces are more experimental in nature than "conventionally musical" and thats why many ppl consider other instrumentalists to be "better" than him. Oh how could I forget. This d00d has one of the most awesome guitar tone.
The latest concept album Reflections:Real Illusions is definitely his best work as yet. My favs off that album are "Dying For Your Love" and "Building The Church"
i haven't heard him much but he is the fastest guitar player in the wurld(i still think satriani is theee best)
^^ listen to 1. for the love of god. 2. dying for ur love 3. amazing grace 4. midnight (man there are so many to name) Joe satriani is good but , technically steve vai is good listen to eric johnson , michael romeo etc. as well ..
my vai favs are Eugenes Trick bag(duh!!) Bad Horsie( double duh!!!!) For the love of God( Triple duh!!!!!!) hmm, Blood and Tears is nice, The Riddle, yeah and a few other arbit tracks whose name i really dont remember.
Fastest guitar player???? When???? Also I don't like his tone at all...it's too overprocessed and lacks life IMO. The same with Satriani.Shredder with massive tone-Michael Lee Firkins
Its changed hugely over the years. I loved the IAW and ACOS tones, especially on the Ronnie Scotts covers (the Perfect Strangers tone is THE definitive rhythm guitar tone!). Don't like the TOT tones at all..post the switch to MESA Road Kings from Rectifiers. Octavarium tones too are nothing special..they sound like a lot of nu-metal bands, especially on These Walls etc.
How many guys have heard Salman Khan playing that Mandolin in Hum Aap Ke Hain Kaun. I am sure he is faster than Vai or Satriani. His tone is amazing too. Dont be bragging about Vai or Satriani all the time. Open up your mind and listen to Salman Khan.
aah..i love both pre Metropolis and post Metropolis tones...especially his tone in 6DOIT. Glass Prison is wicked. Stream of Consciousness is also amazing. Yeah i guess its a lill nu age but hell, i like it
^^ salman khan ... pssstt.. mid-day just leaked this news he's been giving satch some private lessons.. no no.. lessons not about guitar.. but it's about .. how to take off ur clothes while playing guitar.. (for no damn reason)
