the smoke on the water vid is taken from the deep purple live in australia dvd. its the abandon tour.. thats steve just goofing arnd..the actual solo spot is before he plays all the famous covers and breaks into smoke on the water. i find steve morses..EBMM guitar awesome..he even uses one installed with a floyd rose while playing high way star...he doesnt use a trem otherwise..i quite like his finish..if uve seen his newer concerts..his guitars have gone through a change..its diff..and much prettier imo..but i do like his earlier guitars.. its true that he switches pickups quite a bit.he normally switches to the neck pickup when he is playing on the higher frets..and uses the bridge pickup on the lower frets coz it cuts through more...he is a tone control freak.. u guys need to find his vids where he plays acoustic stuff. heh.
