hey ... i have the original song "yakeen" by atif..but Jayswami has posted his own mp3 file for yakeen earlier on..which would be a great help with the strumming and singing along..i requested for that file.

Is this Swing strum?

If not, can u help me out with the pick movements (e.g. DUD strokes form)

 

i dunno man.. i never pay attention to how i strum it comes to me naturally.. i mean its more difficult to figure out if i am doing ddduiudduudu or dddudbndududu how do i do that? if i stop.. i wouldnt know where to d or u nextime..
i dont know if this is good advice or not.. but to me it seems that if u r focussing on doing DDUUDD or DuDUDU etc then u will never get the timing right. for the timing to be right it has to come naturally.. thats what i feel.. i may be totally wrong.
mind u when i picked up the guitar, i was already an intermediate keyboard player.. and sense of rhythm was my strength.. so take this advice witha pinch of salt.

 

Yeah I agree... strumming should come naturally... that's why I'm thinking of taking up tabla or drums after my 12th boards(sigh)
