Recording WITH multimedia P.C with the microphone and an acoustic guitar

Dear IGTians,

I have got a multimedia P.C [with the microphone] and an acoustic guitar. I tried recording but the results are not very interesting.

Can somebody please suggest corrective measures for the same or suggest alternates?

You can go for a pickup and connect it directly to your pc.
Approx costs - 150rs - 600rs ex bangalore.

Dear Jayanth,

My accoustic guitar does have a pickup, but I dont know how and what cable to use to connect the same to the P.C additionally I would like to know if there are any power issues that also needs to be taken care of, at the end of the day I dont want my P.C to be fried because of power issues.

Buy a cable with both ends having 1/8th Jack Mono.. Get a 1/8th to 1/4th converter and Connect the connections(Again My Bad English) .. Which ever end fits the guitar connect and the same with your PC.. No Power issues here..
