A friend mailed me this and thought it would be worth sharing with you guys... Here are two pics of an amazing piece of art. Location: Tata Museum, Jamshedpur. In the first pic, you can see a painting. This was a gift to JRD Tata on his Birthday by a street artist. Nobody was able to understand his art. Unfortunately, only the painting was given to JRD and the artist had promised to reveal the secret shortly. However, JRD was no more when the secret was actually revealed.
its called anamophosis...there was an exhibiotion by an artist called awtar singh virdi at the nehru centre last year....in which h had showcased his work......it can be drawn in two ways....either mathematically or just by pure imagination....the latter being the more difficult of the two....Virdi does it the difficult way..... will post more info on it after my exams come to think of it....even this was there among the paintings there....me thinks tula koni tari mama banavla with the story...coz i remember seeing this there...and virdi is the only guy in india who practices this...it is a very rare art......or mebbe virdi was the street artist....pan mala nahi watat :think:

DrSaurabh, Yes it is awtar singh Vridi who has done this painting and he is the only one who does this anamorphosis stuff with free hand in the world it seems... BTW he used to work for Tata Steels... and was highly impressed by JRD Tata...
