Transporting a guitar is a big problem, couriers dont accept the package. Also everybody here already owns a guitar, whats the sense of giving somebody something they already have.
may b one of these: a signed guitar by an indian rock group (lol) ipod nano(not again) processor+amp(would not be worth it if winner has no electric guitar) a semi-acoustic guitar(i know u said no to guitar but still this is a guitar site) a 10k worth igt winner trophy lol will think of other options (other guitar sites usually offer signed guitars or accesories or cds to their winners)
@ neo lol did u miss this part ok if its NO to guitar then may be guitar accessories like amp or processor or music cd collections?
Most of the guys here are on acoustic guitar, as you pointed it out so thats a problem. Taste in music differs from person to person and also giving just CDs out is kinda lame.
If you're giving away a prize as big as this, what I'd suggest is you invest time or money in the organization. Get a professional (or more than one) to judge it, having fixed rules does hamper creativity so keep the contest loosely formulated but make it clear if it's a guitar show or a songwriting contest or something else. Also, honestly speaking, if I'm a budding musician with an awesome song, I'd be uncomfortable with putting it up on the internet from where it could be stolen so I probably would not put up an original. I really don't know what can be done about it though. I'm just saying that there should be some way you can copyright your song before putting it up here and maybe IGT should look into either a thread that helps with copyright issues. Yeah, I didn't help on topic though.
ok cd out guitar out music accessories : amps pedals processors or get the winner a kind of 10k gift voucher from bajao or any online music/instrument shop? like kind of its bajaao who will be responsible for the shipping n all for whatever the winner chooses as gift...
How about leaving a choice to the winner between 3 or 4 items. You don't have to buy it first and brandish it to attract people.
You can’t protect anything once it goes online. Even the biggest of companies have learnt that lesson. But then again the band Jal became famous as they freely distributed their songs on the internet. Gift voucher thing is the only idea I liked…a little.
