You dont need to start off with scales, first learn some solos or songs

get tabs for some solos and start practicing
soon(if you practice scales well) you will start to see familiar scale patterns in them

    Be more specific
What are you trying to play the melody of a song or solos?
And do you mean u want to know what the right pitch for a song is?

Only way to get the right pitch is to listen to the song very well

maybe try to play along with the song and see if it sounds good

step 1: dont look at scales in isolation - like C major, C minor, D major, etc...
look at them as patterns - major pattern, minor pattern etc - then u get all the 12 major & 12 minor scales just by shifting the major/minor pattern up/down the neck

u can get patterns here https://www.all-guitar-chords.com/guitar_scales.php

step 2: to get the pitch & scale of any song - try to play along with it - shift the scales up/down & see which one fits
