at some point you will have to take up the scientific method to progress.

 

well to comment.....learning guitar by oneself might be possible(nothing to say impossible).....,.. but still one need a teacher, or say a friend, etc. to guide...INTERNET is also helpful in this case(coz i learn'd lot from IGT)......
i wont say that it is impossible but still...its aint easy without any guide

if u wanna play for urself ,... then man learning on yr own is possible,.. if u wanna be like master n all,... then classes,... but hell,... would u like to play a guit the way some one wants u to???? MANNNNNNNNN<..... NO NO for me,...

 

i think one can learn by himself
some guidance is reqd but not necessarily human it can be a website like this one or tutorial softwares or mere videos

 

well, i've practically learnt on my own with the help of softwares and IGT...a guide is indeed of a great help...

im in touch with Souman Das from IGT and believe me he's a great guide!! he gave me a couple of tips the other day...

i also have a couple of other friends with whom i meet up once in a while for some practise..

honestly, if u wanna play for urself or just wanna have some fun with friends, etc, i think it is possible to learn on your own, but if u wanna become a porfessional, then self teaching may not be fool proof!!

Hey I Did Learn Guitar.but I Never Paid A Teacher For Teaching Me.
I Learned G C D From Friend Practiced Hard.saw A Senior Playing Bar Chords Got Inspired,practiced Hard And Here I Am.i've Just Posted Full Version Chords Of "woh Lamhe".so U Do Need Some Help.motivation.

i learnt guitar on my own . yea my fellow band member Sameer taught me the basics. in 1 yr or so i learnt the basics ,chords ,tabbin etc wht a normal guitar player require.... now i m a lead guitarist my mah band!! check out the orginals v have composed!!

You can start playing guitar with some basic excercises but you know
I think at some point you need to have a teacher with you.
I am playing guitar from last 14-15 months, i havn't learnt it from anyone & i play some basic
12-15 songs. but i think NOW i should start learning it from some teacher

 

I think the best way to go would be to learn the basics and then take a few classes. Thats what I would do. As a guitar great once said... 'The guitar is the easiest instrument to learn..but the most difficult to master'

i think if one jus keeps on exprimenthing with the strings one day he gets the feel...then he know's how to sing in unison with those sounds and ultimatly learns the tuning part..this is how i learned ...so u need to put a lot of time.
sleep with the sound & the next morning u remember the dream !
