Hi, I am planning for my first solo-guitar show in my college. Anyone can suggest me for something... Anyone who has done Guitar-stage-shows can give me a good n easy format of minimum 5-10min. Pleazzzzzzzzzz :band:
in which college?i mean in engg colleges u goota play some metal riffs. in schools and art colleges u can play MI2 theme,smoke on the water intro,summer of 69 n all tht.can also play some hindi tunes. gudluck with ur 1st gig
There are many songs you can perform in colleges.. as rust_in_pain said..mi2 would be a very good choice..if you can play it nicely... :dance: then surely the crowd will be at their feet... :rock: 1 more song which you can play is dhoom title track...i saw it performed in many college fests.... Best of luck for your first solo-guitar show... : (Don't look into the crowd and the eyes of the studs sitting in the first rows....while palyin... : )
I dunno if other people have noticed it or not,but,if u see tht the crowd is sitting quietly,tht means they r actually appreciating ur song.i know this coz i have been an audience too. btw, u cant expect the crowd to go mad after u unless u r a rockstar.so consider it a gud sign if crowd is silent.
sing/ play frm ur heart. dont try to be a stud onstage unless u can really play like one .. glhf . . ! (good luck have fun)

i have had just one gig in my life in which i performed almost solo...and if this is ur first one..dont worry..u wont even notice the boos and hoots..its a hysteria when ur on stage..dont look at the crowd unless ur too confident..and talking abt music..play sum famous guitar numbers be hindi/english...but prefer a bit fast ones...also it will be good..if u could know the taste of the crowd..depends on what crowd ur college has..u can also make it more interesting by asking ppl for their own requests..its gonna be good fun..all the best..tell us ..how it went! tahda!!
sdv is being killed my the mob..............i think they were not able to take much more of his solos.........and killed him by throwing shoes and eggs and tomatos...............how sad:grin:
Customize your own version of Van Halen's Eruption. They are some simple tappings and most of the dumb crowd will get crazy about your two handed techniques. I had this experience. I had played some nice licks and nobody gave a damn, then played some LKG UKG level tapping and the crowd started enjoying. Do some fanciful s.h.i.t. Do whatever but make sure you present it well. These days you can even sell s.h.i.t if you package it well. Now you know why Nu Metal sells.
the last time i played live (arnd 2months back) i used some tapping somewhere in the middle of my song (where the violin and the tabla were fused) and the feckless cameraman shot the violinist instead of me! right at the show-off scene, i'm out of the scene! what flummery! and i'm not sure if the people could have noticed me doing such a (probably not so) crazy thing from that distance.. but the crowd enjoyed, i guess, nevertheless.. : nu metal sells, but who buys?
