PETITION: Private Message length restrictions

Dear administrators,

I've posted this before: the length restrictions on private messages (1000) characters are, well, retarded. I haven't seen this on any other forum that I'm a member of (HC, FSB, gear page, amp garage, RSJ, music electronics, and more).

I'm glad to answer PMs and like to answer them as clearly as possible cause I sometimes have newbies enquiring about something or the other, and i like to help clear those doubts. I'm just not 100% comfortable with giving out my email address.

1000 characters is not a lot, particularly if you quote the earlier message in your answer. I don't even see a valid reason for this restriction. If there is one, I will stand corrected; but I think on the whole this is an inconvenience to forum users in general.

 

Uh, oh, I think the technical admin of this forum had quit long back.
