Many of us have different interpretations of what love is. While SRK may stammer away in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai "Heyheyhey, p-p-p-pyar dosti hai" and Saif may croon in his 'bicycle tyre' voice in Dil Chahta Hai that love is a different girl every 2-3 months ... if I'm asked what's love, I'd have only one answer.

Ok, I know ... I bored you by the digression : and you want me to get on with it.

Alright, this was a request from Victor, to tab the version of Pehla Nasha which I've posted in the Indian Rock section (WHAT?! YOU HAVEN'T CHECKED IT AS YET ?! *@(*#@*( ).

I play this song in the C-major key. Purely coz I learned the intro in the C-scale when I was an absolute rookie, and I find it a little difficult to unlearn the C-major style of playing now :

The original is F-major. So you can shift accordingly. Every note in the F-major key would be 5 frets higher (2.5 notes that is). The chords will be shifted accordingly:

So the following post is ENTIRELY in the key of Cmajor. If you want to play according to the original song, transpose everything to the Fmajor scale in the ffg manner:

It's better I guess, to play in the original scale, but those who wanna play the song for fun ... and cannot sing at a higher pitch, can make do with this one.

The interludes tabbed in this one are different from the ones in my recording. I tried to be as faithful to the original this time around ... of course, apart from the fact that I have tabbed the whole song in a different key.

his wrk is in C scale
u hav 2 transpose da chrds..
ur tabs r ok n F major is da corrct scale.. n he plays da same stuff too starin frm B string 1st fret.. only in a diff scale..

but u cant play nikammas tabs wid ur chrds tht u hav included in ur post

Yeah, I totally agree ... the song doesn't have that special magical zing when played in the Cmajor scale.

Subhro's right, you have to transpose the tabs and interludes otherwise it would sound very odd!

But, somehow ... I find playing the intro a little difficult in the Fmajor scale...

Coz it will go something like

So I'm playing in the Cmajor scale until I can get better :

[A thing I can do ofcourse is buy a capo, and use it to transpose it to the F-scale. Then I would be able to play it with ease ... but I don't wanna do that ... would rather get my playing right than use a capo ... somehow feels like cheating my way out : ]


By the way, the F-major chords which you've posted Guitarist ... Shouldn't it be

and u r right abt gettin ur playin right rathr thn usin a capo..
its not tht tough in F .. try it.. i think u don use ur pinky oftn ? rght ? if not strt usin it.. wud suck a lot in da beginnin but u wud get used 2 it.. n thn u won find it hard playin da same tabs in da F scale..

i personally think if u don play da song in da original scale it sumwht loses da charm 2 sum extent.. entirely my funde though..

Spot on, don't use my pinky too often ... had lost touch in the middle for a month, when I'd gone for a college trip et al. And since I've restarted practising, been usually strumming along ... lost my touch when it comes to scales and stuff.

Agree that a song loses its charm when played in a different scale. Pehla Nasha is only one of 2 songs which I play in a different scale (not that I know too many songs lol ...). I play Wonderwall on the Em scale, the actual scale is F#m ...

Though for that matter, even Oasis use a capo when it comes to Wonderwall ... probably coz getting the timing right playing in the original scale without a capo is insanely difficult, and yeah, obviously coz they want the open-string effect ...

2nd, Well the song thats played on the FMaj. Scale has a different intro or I suppose the tabbting in general right? Maybe if you guys could help me out with the tabbings for the F Maj. Scale

I'm amazed at the number of guitarist who can sing and play beutifully... I guess I'm one of the 10% of ppl who cant sing for nuts... but can play the guitar )
