I know there are lots of similar posts around, so if the mods feel its not needed, they can delete the post and guide me to someone who can help. I have an old Givson Crown 20 - been with me for over 17 yrs now - had a cheap pick up fitted in her frm Peter Periera's shop....and it sounds ok...The whole back came off from the bottom once and the ply chipped off a bit, and PP's shop got her fixed for me - sounds really good still, and hence I never felt the need for another acoustic. Am an acoustic player totally, and am now hoping to buy a new one since I can afford it....however, my budget is well within 10k....more to the tune of somewht above 5k... I saw Yamaha F210 at Bajaao.com for 5.5k - but I read abt F310 as well - what's the difference - price and feature/qltywise? Anything better/comparable? How abt GB & A , Granada, and Pluto? I checked out a Pluto at Haribhau's at Prabhadevi and wasnt impressed with her - cudnt connect with her. I played the Yamaha L series for around 2 hours at an expo once and was totally in love with how she sounded - but yeah I cant afford tht much! Anything closer will do - I dont want an F-cut - lookin more for a box guitar..... An acoustic classical (nylon strings) is also an option - though I donno how to play it, I`m sure thts not a problem at all... As for ppl talkin of maintenance and all - i never used any polish etc on my Givson - at times wiped stubborn dirt with even nail polish removers (had lottsa stickers stuck frm childhood ) At times use a slight wet cloth too to wipe her off - used nail polish to draw lines instead of dot inlays on the fretboard, used vaseline and dosa-oil at times on fingers to play smooth, etc...... So now u know the kinda maintainer I am ) Plz recommend!
hmm... For ya budget of 5k ...I would recommed a GB&A...its good...and if you could pop up some extra bucks go for Washburn...too smooth... But if you dont want to go for the prices stuff then you can go for a hobner jumbo...will cost you around 2800/-....But its worth is more than that...the best accoustic i have played in the <5k segment.....hobners rule:rock: And dood...plz maintain your guitar....its the best asset you have...better than your galfren... DOnt use oiled fingers these would get into the frets and get soaked and then you wont get the true accoustics:annoyed: .
true acoustics? Dude I think they just made much better stuph back then....u havent heard her sound, have u? My budget is not sub 5k - its 5 to 10k.....guys can I have model numbers as well when u quote the suitability plz... @Born2Tab - which washburn is available sub 10k and how good is it? The Washburns I saw on Bajaao.com are damn expensive! I dont want a Hobner or a Givson - no rookie/beginner level guitars, i`m aiming at - want something thts good and has a full bodied tone to it (donno how to explain this )

Ovation.................The best .......(10K to 22K) I am fortunate enuff to play the 22K model :grin: It woz a gr8 feeling!! wid 5 K budget...Go for Yamaha or Signature guitars (Dunno if available outside West Bengal)..I have a Signature guitar which is pretty good and cost only2.2K...so, the choice iz urs...

i bought f310 for 6.5k .prices were high when i bought it. now it is for 5.5k. if you can increase your budget then go for takamine.
LANEYMANEY - thanks a lot dude....really! I`ll go for the Takamine but tht Bharat Music is in Delhi...i`ll try to see if its available in Mumbai for around the same price.... I`ll like an acoustic with a pickup, but a plain acoustic will do.... @TAKAMINE - is is tht they are better with pickups but not good otherwise?
