This is my version of Melancholic Ecstacy by Indian Ocean. This is not exactly the same as the original. I have made some modificatoins to make it simpler and also suit my band setup, esp. in the second part. So if you find some parts don't match please be aware. Code: The initial "aalap" begins with a Csus4 chord. The basic scale goes through C(Sa) D(Re) D#(Ga) F(Ma) A(Dha) A#(Ni) C(Sa), with the notes E (alternate Ga) and G (Pa) added now and then. (I normally play this in D cos the open strings give a good resonating droning effect.
