    I've logged in after such a long time..saw my "joined" date and was just too shocked. Pointless thread really...but IGT brings back so many memories. Started posting chords and tabs that I'd copy paste from ultimate-guitar mostly and then start stupid threads (worse than these) in the CCL.
    Anyway, then came the phase where I posted a lot of poems in the poetry section and even though reading some of them now is quite embarrassing, it helped me develop my writing skills a lot. And studying for advertising now, so copywriting comes quite easily to me thanks to those scribbles. No, I don't make stupid rhymes for taglines. Okay, maybe I do.

    Anyway, stupid thread ends here. Saw quite a few familiar names: Morbid Angel, bjr, alpha1, horsesmouth, monica_decosta. Good to know you guys are still keeping the place alive :)

    haha, yes it has been a while. I'm not sure why I'm here anymore except that I'm trying to start playing the guitar a little better...not that this site has anything to do with it. Where've you been? and what kept you away? (besides the uninterestingness of the site I mean)

    I don't know...I guess I wasn't happy with the course I was studying, back then. Writing was more of an escape then, and getting feedback for the things I wrote was even more an impetus to be here. Then there was that phase where IGT had become quite inactive, a lot of new faces and mostly the CCL n Hindi tabs section being active. Weirdly that was the time I chose to switch my career course and things worked out quite well. Not to mention I can't seem to write poems...more of a prose person now.
    I was never here for the guitar too, strangely. Oh, except I put a couple of recordings here long back. I think it was Keerof was the most active and useful there in terms of critique. You, cryptic_angel, #iR@ and Petunia were hugely helpful in the poetry section. This is seriously making me too nostalgic now, except the new interface :\
    Any tips on playing the guitar better? Haven't played mine for 2 years now...except strumming songs I'm too familiar with now.

    It's just about going back to where you started. It's a huge ego hitter - it's so frustrating not to be able to play songs you could play blindfolded earlier, or licks that are in your head. Musically, you are where you left it or close to it but physically, you're far behind. A lot of times I think of a chord progression and try playing on it but it just doesn't sound any good and I know the only way to get better is to keep at it yet it's difficult to find the enthusiasm to.

    Of course, if you were just strumming chords back in the day, it might not be so bad....just start over, there's no other way.

    Oh...I screwed up my practice. I just got too confused at one point where I didn't know if I should learn to play the classical guitar or play blues or try to learn folk-style guitar. Ended up doing nothing. If I go back, I'd still be confused :\ So I strum chords, that too after getting every song down to the scale of C.

    @MA: Haha...yupp..no poems. What's up with you?
