HOPE ITS CORRECT.... THANKS..!! N SORRIE..IF ITS ALREADY POSTD....
The first version is more 'correct' in that the song resolves from V7 to I. Peter Paul and Mary does it in key of A actually, AFAIK so does John in the original version of the song. Both of the above are 'beginner' versions with easier fingering but more difficult to sing correctly. I just saw your second version - it's a screwed up cut and paste. All the first lines of each verse are together, and the second lines are all together. Are you lifting it off some site?
hey..no ..actually... i wanted da chords of the song.... u can see da name of da thread..i searchd for it on IGT..didn get it... but...den... i kinda searchd 4 it..in da search engines...i got this thing... so posted...by editing...da ...previous post..... so i copied it 4m der.... hvnt tried it..bro.... now..can i have da actual correct... chords of thins song plss????
Wasn't that clear - thought you were posting a transcription. I'm not sure of the Armageddon version chords, don't have the song. Same for the John version, but I think it was in A, and he sometimes played it in C in concerts when he had too much to drink the night before. It sounds the best in A, and there are only three chords anyway, so... Replace C with A, F with D and G7 with E7 (there is no E played throughout the song). Play open chords, they sound the best for this song unless you're doing a remix or something.
The song sounds better if it starts with a G7 and Chorus goes C F C F.... G7 C F All my bags are packed I'm ready to go C F I'm standing here outside your door, C Am G G7 I hate to wake you up to say goodbye. C F But the dawn is breaking it's early mor'n C F The taxi waiting he is blowing his horn C Am G G7 Already i'm so lonesome I could cry. C F So kiss me and smile for me, C F Tell me that you'll wait for me Try this version on my blog (PDF file): https://goldenjazz.blogspot.com/2008/11/leaving-on-jet-plane.html
