OK, this man is easily one of my favourite musicians, multi instrumentalists (does that word exist?) and more importantly, one of my facourite musical visionaries.

He started a band called final when he was 13 (thirteen!). And its not some kind of childish thing: The band still exists today (i saw them live on monday and they kicked ass) and releases ambient/industrial music.

Moving on, when 15, he was the guitarist of napalm death and played the guitars for their first album "scum". That album can easily be credited as THE beginning of grindcore. And can also be credited for the invention of the blastbeat as we know it today.

Next up, godflesh. The founder/frontman was justin. Needless to say, the number of bands that it influenced: Everything from fear factory, to nine inch nails to isis.

After the demise of godflesh, he founded jesu. All of this, ignoring his involvement other projects/bands such as techno animal, head of david, pelican and a countless other bands.

I cant say this to any other person or band but i really like EVERYTHING that this man has released, which is why i opened this thread.

OK, fanboyism aside, is there anyone else who likes any of his bands/work?

Depends on which band. Jesu and godflesh are mostly slow with godflesh being ultra cold music and jesu being the spacey, emotional music.

Napalm death is brutal but he left napalm death after recording the scum album.

And if you read the first post, you'll know that he makes ambient stuff aswell.

Haha, you dont know what ambient is?

Its atmospheric/moody music. Well, some people call it noise (without knowing what noise is: see merzbow), but thats because theyre dream theatre fans.

Not to mention that most of this guy's stuff is usually ahead of his time. (minus the later godflesh material) And you need an open mind to enjoy his stuff. You can check out some songs from his final project.

I cant bear even 90s music, dunno about futuristic stuff.
Lemme check it out though (with an open mind ;))

    PS: I am Dreamtheatre fan.

Yep, the silver EP is good. HAve you got the whole Jesu album or only the songs that i sent you?

And godflesh has metal vocals. Its jesu minus all the emotion. Just mechanical grind. Final would be for you i guess.
