Just a stupid question

How do i get distortion
is it possible to get distorsion and overdrive with just an amplispeaker
or do i have to get a processor/pedal

also can anybody give me price range for amplispeakers in india
i dont need anything with much wattage
its just for home practice

 

4 overdrive, u cn do it through amplifiers and pedals

 

whats the diff bet distorsion and overdrive?

 

Distortion is better than overdrive for metal and rock coz it doesn't give u inter modulation distortion,u better buy a distortion pedal.

 

if i want a modified soft distortion then i would go for??

 

I read somewhere on the gears forum that most amps have distorsion effect built into it

yeah but most of them suck big time unless u hav some good Staxk amps like Marshall,Mesa boogie etc..i have a fender amp which has overdrive in it.its good as far as overdrive is considered
@uj_sen soft distortion is nothing but soft clipping.you'll have turn the knob down to get a softer distortion.
