Great song, very shimmering guitar work. I'll keep adding parts when I have time, here's the main riff to get you started.

I've now added video to show you how it's done, otherwise half the gandoos on this forum that couldn't play a chord to save their life will come around telling me it's wrong!

It uses tremolo, chorus and maybe some echo on the intro. Played through some wonderful sounding gear, probably on a Fender Strat, so don't complain if it doesn't sound the same on your Givson/Hobner!

    e|----------------------------
    b|-------------------3--3--1--
    g|------2----2----2-----------
    d|----------------------------
    a|---0----3----2--------------
    E|----------------------------

Choti si zindagi, gehri si jeb hai
Baaki to jaaneman, baaton ke seb hain (what!?) x2

It carries on like this until the chorus...

    e|---------------------------------------
    b|---------------------------------------
    g|--9----------8----------------7---------
    d|--9---10-----8---------------7---10-0--
    a|--7---10-----6---------------5---10-9--
    E|-------8--------------------------8-7--

Hey Johnny, zindagi jua hai, khel yaar

Then you go back to playing the riff, or if you want more bite, play this very Nirvana-esque power chord sequence:

    e|-----------------------------------------------
    b|-----------------------------------------------
    g|-----------------------------------------------
    d|--7---7-/-10---10---9---9-/-12---12---10-\-9---
    a|--7---7-/-10---10---9---9-/-12---12---10-\-9---
    E|--5---5-/-8-----8---7---7-/-10---10----8-\-7---

Then a very small, simple riff

    e|-------------------------------------------
    b|-------------------------------------------
    g|------7b8b7--5--7b8b7--5--7b8b7--5~~
    d|-------------------------------------------
    a|-------------------------------------------
    E|-------------------------------------------

    e|--------------------------------------------------------
    b|-------------------------------------------------8b11--
    g|----5--7--7b8b7--5--7b8b7--5--7b8b7--5---------------
    d|--7----------------------------------------------------
    a|-------------------------------------------------------
    E|-------------------------------------------------------

    Hi Rahul,
There's no shortcut to playing barre chords. You need to place your index finger just behind the fret. Press really hard. Start with just the index finger and play each string individually. If every string sounds clear, progress to playing the rest of the chord. Although, I didn't use any barre chords for this song, just simple power chords.

    Nice one man..

Just checked out your website. The fact that you luthier'ed your own guitar is pretty badass!! Kudos man...that some genuine creativity there...I just bought a new Breedlove AD25/SR Plus Acoustic/Electric and, let alone building one, it was hard enough to choose a pre-made one!!

:p: I know what you mean. I was lucky. I had known for atleast 2 years that I wanted nothing but a Les Paul, so buying my first guitar was not hard.

But I spent 6 months looking for the perfect amp. Bought a Fender Deluxe 2 weeks back. Now I'm looking for something else to obses about!

Man, I don't bother much with strumming pattersn so I don't know how to explain. I just play whatever I like.

This song is easy. Just try 8 downstrokes over each line.

    Hey
    1,2,3,4

    Johnny

    Zindagi jua hai

    UPDATE!!!!

Here's a better way to play the riff. If you have a tremolo, set it to the same speed at which you play each note. The effect has to be pretty saturated for it to sound like the original.

Thanks, to my mate Darren for correcting me.

    e|---------------------------------------------
    b|----------------------------------------------
    g|---------2---------2----------2-----2-------
    d|------2----2----2----2-----2----0-----------
    a|---0---------3----------2--------------3-----
    E|----------------------------------------------

Whoo! Hoo! And with that, I complete 100 posts on IGT!
