Hey guys, i own a 10 year old givson f-cut, today i was playing and managed to break the plastic string holder at the neck (before going to the machinehead) for the low E string in the end ... i have attached the pictures .... is it possible to repair? can someone tell how much it might cost possibly? thanks you guys ....
Naah i think the plastic crumbled, i donot even see it lying around on the floor !!! otherwise it was the first thing that came to my mind )
Thanks man for the website, should be of help in the future, i took it to the guitar shop here, they will have it replaced for 100 bucks, told me will take a day. Btw, i was wondering, do the nuts come in standard sizes? if not, how do you resize/shape at home?
From that site, it appears yes. You can see nuts for Classical, Folk or Electric each with a different dimension. I think the most important of these should be the length of the nut which corresponds to fretboard width. If someone wants to replace a nut its best to order a nut which is atleast as wide as the older nut. Soumyaranjan - just take it to the nearest guitar repair shop - they will replace it in about 5 minutes .
