he played for india in the one off test that australia played in india in 1996
the one where nayan mongia made his maiden test century 153 i think it was
david johnson bowled short and wide without any control but touched 155 kmph throughout but as is the case with indian cricket instead of breeding the youngster he never played for india again

he is nowhere near the best but since the thread was about the fastest thought i should mention him

Dude...I think you are wrong there...as far as I remember David Johson used to run in verry fast as if he would unleash a thunderbolt, and then bowl in the 120K's range...:p:

I have seen him bowl..I'm mostly sure that he was medium-pace..since it was a long time ago and I might have been mistaken, I specified that 'as far as I remember'......but jammy's info proves it..

    "jammy's info" comes from cricinfo.com.

but if you really want jammy's info, then yes i have seen him too - on t.v.

during the tour to south africa, when Dravid made his first test century. that series.

    he is medium pace.

On the short side for a "fast" bowler, David Johnson came into the Indian side on the basis of some fine performances around the domestic circuit

david johnson came into the indian team cos everytime we go to australia or south africa we pack our teams with hitherto unheard of "pace" bowlers who are going to (supposedly) wreak havoc on the opponent team, taking advantage of the bouncy pitches. :p
