How to understand the strumming pattern?

i cant understand the strumming pattern of a song...always i need some one's help t know the strumming pattern of a song....plzz guide me and help me out.

 

for strumming you jus need to listen to a song first properly.. then jus follow the rhythm.. i never learned strumming from anyone...
Also while strumming jus let ur hand move freely.. jus dont restrict its movement...
there r many patterns though
DUDUDUDU
DDUUDDUU
DUUDUUDUU
where D - Down stroke U- Up stroke

i never used anythin like these though
