How do you play a tab that goes- e-7------------7-0----------------------------- b----0---------0------0------------------------ g--------0-----------------0------------------ d------------------------------------------- a------------------------------------------- e-0------------------------------------------ How to play the notes -7- --- --- --- --- -0-? do you play 7th fret at 1st string and immediately play 6th string open?
no u play it simulatanesously u can do two things: 1. if u are finger picking - i.e. using only finger s to pick strings, u can use your thumbs to pick the 6th string and ring finger to pick the 1st string 2. if u are using plectrum - u can use the plectrum to pick the 6th string and use the ring finger to pick the 1st string however the key point is that both the strings have to be picked simultaneously
i think for such tabs its better if u use ur fingers ie no plectrum...... n yes what jerkyll said is right!
plectrum is a piece of equipment which is used for initiaiting the vibrations in a string. usually it looks like a triangular piece of flat material 0.5 mm to 2 mm thick (well in normal circumstances) the shape can vary - it can be traingular, oval, and some other weird shape - however one vertice has to be a little pointed for speed picking of strings the material can be anything - tortoise shell, plastic, ...
@m_waleed i'm sure u know what a plectrum is, mayb u jst didnt know it's called that. maybe u call it a 'pick' or smthng..... does that ring a bell???
Jekyll said it all many people dont use the term plectrum...prefer callin it a "pick" like tooth pick
