    good

Listen dude !! ... Try to learn F chord as a Bar chord it will help u alot to play other Bar chords

    F Major Chord ...
    -----1------2------3----
    e|---x---|------|------|
    B|---x---|------|------|
    G|---x---|---x--|------|
    D|---x---|------|--x---|
    A|---x---|------|--x---|
    E|---x---|------|------|

Here 1 , 2 and 3 represents frets ... cover first fret with ur index fingure ..
and accordingly place other two fingures in both 2 and 3 frets
If u remove ur second fingure from second fret then it will be F minor bar chord..

    F minor Chord ...
    -----1------2------3----
    e|---x---|------|------|
    B|---x---|------|------|
    G|---x---|------|------|
    D|---x---|------|--x---|
    A|---x---|------|--x---|
    E|---x---|------|------|

and the following one is g7 which sounds similarly like G
i will differentiate both .. check out

    G Major chord ... ( Not a bar Chord)

    -----1-------2----------3----
    e|------|----------|---x(4)---|
    B|------|----------|---x(3)---|
    G|------|----------|----------|
    D|------|----------|----------|
    A|------|--x(1)----|----------|
    E|------|----------|---x(2)---|

    G7 Chord

    -----1-------2----------3----
    e|------|----------|---x(3)---|
    B|------|----------|----------|
    G|------|----------|----------|
    D|------|----------|----------|
    A|------|--x(1)----|----------|
    E|------|----------|---x(2)---|

I think u got the difference ... :) Good luck dude

yes u r right this is G7 too. As bharath mentioned the same chord can be made in a lot of ways by changing its position or using different number of notes

yes u can play G7 in many ways but this isnt one of them - this is just G

    e|------|----------|---x(3)---|
    B|------|----------|----------|
    G|------|----------|----------|
    D|------|----------|----------|
    A|------|--x(1)----|----------|
    E|------|----------|---x(2)---|

G7 needs to have an F note in it

Practise a lot, obviously.I think everyone above must have mentioned it..
Other than that, try songs with those chords..will post some if you have a hard time finding such songs..

If you still have a hard time shifting chords..try this:
    Code:
    Step 1:

    1|---1
    2|---1
    3|---2
    4|---3
    5|---x
    6|---x
I recommend this shape coz shifting to C and G7 is a whole lot easier this way

    C
    1|--0
    2|--1
    3|--0

    G7
    1|--1
    2|--0
    3|--0

Once you get used to this, add [B]one[/B] note in each C and G7..I hope you get my point and best of luck.

    BTW,the G7 I'm mentioning is:
    1|----1
    2|----0
    3|----0
    4|----0
    5|----2
    6|----3

uh, the chord the other guy posted is not a G7th. The most important tones (the guide tones) for the chord are the 3rd and the 7th. The third decides whether the chord is major or minor and the 7th decides if it is a maj7, min7 or dom7th.

The given shape can be used where a G7th is warranted....but then again, the same shape can be used where a Gmaj7 is supposed to be used. However, the 2 chords are entirely different so no, GBD is G major and not G7th even though all the notes of the G major are used in the G7th.

in order to change chords perfectly it is required that u, should not put ur fingers indivisually but as a group,

so make a chord ensure that each string is sounding clearly, after u get this lift the fingers about 3-4 cms from the board and try to make the same chord again(all fingers at once)

u may get wrong once or twice, after u perfect this increase the distance till u can form the chord from about one inch from the fretboard,

and presto u have learnt the chord perfectly,

do this for the three chords and u will be perfect in about a week

and please u ppl out there , don't confuse a newbie by giving him strange looking chord shapes.

things take time.if u managed to learn the chords the normal way, then he too can do so.

and these r the simplest chords, just practice man,!!!
    practice!!!!
