hey guys can someone plz fill me in on how to block .exe application e.g msnmsgr.exe or iexplore.exe thanks in advance
ok.. u can use msconfig utility which comes with windows xp.. type msconfig in run command and select the utilities u want to run on startup.. still not comfortable then use this https://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml
^ But that wont block the application. Its just preventing it from trigger-running during startup. Dude requst to shift this thread to Comp Forum. I don't wanna lose post counts. 8-|
ctrl+alt+del, end process .. if you want to get rid of them so they dont run at startup, use msconfig .. still wanna go deeper? registry = HKLM>local machine>software>windows>run/run once and delete the reg keys for softwares you dont want to run at startup
To permanently block msnmsgr.exe why don't you just uninstall it? As for iexplore.exe, you're running it because you use Internet Explorer. Stop using it and it won't run.
^ yeah i thought i would say the same, but you gotta make sure that process is indeed genuine explorer and msn .. gotta check origin and activity .. these days i dont even trust the windows start button!!! grrrrrrr
