i definetly go with SP2 not only due to its enhanced security but also due to the fact that Microsoft itself is encouraging it!!here's the proof:- UPDATE: Time is running out! Please note that the mechanism to temporarily disable delivery of Windows XP SP2 is only available for a period of 240 days (8 months) from August 16, 2004. At the end of this period (after April 12, 2005), Windows XP SP2 will be delivered to all Windows XP and Windows XP Service Pack 1 systems. this was a security notification issued by microsoft regarding the SP2. they r stating here that by April 12, 2005 all the comps running XP and XP SP1 OS's will be provided the SP2 version so all those who do not have the SP2 version please do not try switching off automatic live update.
well .. i havent got my service packs yet. ..they say it will take about 3 weeks to deliver ... in the meantime ... how do i get rid of all those spywares and pop-up thingys!!!

@silent dragon: thnx, i have used spyware doctor, but it isnt very good, will try your ones @dmf: i am on 256k bb, it will take me ages to download those hefty files, and i aint paying for the cd version, i am getting those free as well ..
