how many chords shuould i learn?

ansh i mean do i have to learn the barre chords, chords that have some strange relations with 'sus'.the a7s and c7s apart from minors and #minors.just the thought terrifies me

the more u learn..the better u can play,..nothing terrifying..
u have to play them someday or the other..
sus chords aint difficult to play.

 

thanks . to uncomplicate the matter i ll post the songs on my wishlist and then u can hopefully tell me which chords i still have to learn. appreciate your help.

 

go thru the chord chart..and post here all the chords u can play smoothly.

dood ... first learn the majors ... cdefgab
then the minors of the same ...
then learn the e shape bar chord of the same ...
then learn the a shape bar chord of the same ...
then learn the am shape bar chords for the same ...
and then em shape bar chords for the same ...
then learn the 7th s .. of major ...
then 7ths of minor ...
then learn power chords by playing just root and 5th of the major chords ....
and then u can explore .. the CAGED .. shape ... by now u'd know a and e shape .. learn c g and d shape ...
these shud b good to make u get a hold and learn other chords later on ...
guess this might take some 6 months .... but learn it in this order and u'll find it easy .......

i am intermediate guitar player!!! such questions generally comes to out mind !
such as how many chord i should know!!
but really speaking u dont need to learn all the chords !!! u must know the basic chords(open and closed) and then after u can find other relevant chords!! there are some diminished chords which are different but they r used quite rarely !!
so practice open positon c major , d minor , e major , G7 major .
Closed position C minor , F minor , Eb(flat) major, Bb(flat) major .
this is how i started !!!
