Folks, can you tell me how this kind of strumming (see attachment) is played? Is it using a pick or fingers and whether some palm muting technique has been employed. Please also post the strumming pattern as well your own recording if possible. I have taken this segment from sarang_cool's sounclick page.
No palm muting. Its plain old strumming, just done with right emphasis. Dont think anyone can actually explain it over the internet. The simpler trick would be to strum completely when you wanna emphasize, and strum incompletely when you wish to go fast.
Dear alpha, Thanks for explaining. Does this mean that for fast strumming we only strike 2-3 high strings? I believe its very difficult to go fast with 6, 5 or 4 strings.
@Alpha You r quite right dude...It's the same old pattern @iprakash This pattern is very simple...juz try to play the following pattern wid the recording.. The pattern is DUDUD* lil pauseUD in the above pattern D* = damp that last down stroke... I dun know how to right it technicaly : I hope this helps...let me know if you still have a problem
Thanks Sarang. In the song do you use a pick or your nails to play that. How do you mute when using a pick. The problem I find is that if I use my finger nails I can mute but the upstroke becomes difficult. Can you advise a remedy.
