hey all, i am new to this forum and i think this is a wonderful place for beginners like me .anyway with my doubt i read the tips from other posters abt how to read tabs say for eg .... The numbers represent the frest on your fretboard. E-------------------0------------------------------1-- B----------------0----0-------------------------1---- G-------------0----------0--------------------1------ D----------0----------------0--------------1--------- A-------0----------------------0--------1------------ E---0----------------------------0---1--------------- This tab tells you to pluck open strings from the last to the first and then return to the last after which you play the first fret on each string in the order 6 st string - 5th - 4th - 3rd - 2nd - 1st. I understand the concept of O,1,2,3 abt frets but NOW WHAT I DONT UNDERSTAND IS HOW is it played ...what i mean is that how do u interpret that go back to last string again and so forth ???can someone please give one more example of a tab diagram and explain how it is played ...maybe that will make me understand better thanks a ton in advance
welcome aboard... c, tab readin is pretty simple. u got da fret no.s on da tabs, rite? E----------------- B----------------- G----------------- D----------0----- A-------0-------- E---0------------ now, da fret no.s r arranged in order.. its like, in dis piece dat iv pasted, u 1st play 6th string open. den u play 5th string open. den 4th string open. da reason y u r playin it in dis order is bcoz da fret no.s r arranged frm left to right. u start wid da left-most fret no. given on da tab n end wid da right-most fret no. anoder eg. E------------------------ B------------------------ G-----3-----------5---3- D---------5---3--------- A------------------------ E------------------------ in dis particular portion, u play da left-most note 1st. which is da 3rd fret of da G string. den u play da next 1 in da order. which is 5th fret of da D string. den da 3rd fret on D string. den 5th fret on G. den 3rd fret on G. u get da order now?? it juz starts frm left n continues right. dats it. if u hav sumthin like dis... E------------------- B-------1---------- G-------2---------- D-------2---------- A------------------- E------------------- dat is.. if u hav 2 or more fret no.s given on da same column, it denotes a chord. so u gotta hav yer fingers on da 1st fret of B, 2nd fret of G n 2nd fret of D, all at once. well, i guez u wud b knowin how chords r played newayz so.. hope dat clears things.. :beer:
