help: Strumming Patterns and barre chord or without barre

i`m 14 nd i`m learnin hw 2 play a guitar since 3 months. ive learned quite a few songs tabs and chords. i face a problem in playin da chords of a song.

1) i can`t get da strumming patterns. althouh ive learned certain rhythms such as soul,bosonova,etc but after lukin for da chords on da net i still cant play da song as i dunno da strummin patterns.

2) anoder problem im facin is where 2 play da chords weder as a barre hord or without barre.

Do u have access to guitar class? Can u explain rythms like soul bosanova etc?

If u have access to a live show video of the original arist, try to see how they r playing. I think to start with u can play open or barre as comfortable to u, until ur ears become sharper. someday when u feel it doesn't sound like original, then try other positions. Practice barre a lot, they r really useful. Which songs are trying to learn?

i`m tryin 2 learn songs like tere bin by atif aslam nd aadat nd wo lamhe by jal, etc. i know da chords for aadat but cant get da rhythm.....

 

i think u should start with the "ding dong song" or "yanki-doodle" and forget these songs .. they won't help you .. u will stuck in 3 chords for the rest of your life like jal and atif lol which is true

SG, hehe u really don't like JAL songs? 3 chords or less, they are hugely successful at a young age and popular with young generations. A fact

 

donno much about Tere Bin. Woh Lamhe seems comparatively simple strumming. Aadat seems just an improvement of Woh Lamhe. Lot of people have covered these here on IGT sound track. They should be able to help you more. Listen to original until rythm is fixed in mind. Barre chords are used, i think. If u listen carefully there might be finger (squeak) noise indicating liely chord change. I hope u will get lot of help. If nobody responds I will try to help though i am not myself good playing. rgds

dude i think in 3 months u cant get perfectionin strummin patterns so y dont u try strummin pattrens of simple songs like papa kehte hai ,puarani jeans n al
n slowly shift for tougher songs
