Help regarding Warm up exercises

    Hi guys,

    I am a newbie and just a beginner in guitar. I have visited threads showing "warm up exercises"..... i am able to understand the string name "E" "G" and all, but what i am confused is with 1-2-3-4 what does this mean.... how should i play ?

    pls help me guys

    1-2-3-4 refers to the fret #'s

    i.e - 1st string: 1-2-3-4 refers to the E string (6th string) and frets 1, 2, 3, and 4.

    Another way to look at it:
    String 6
    String E
    1 - F Note
    2 - F# Note
    3 - G Note
    4 - G# Note

    The reason that you're seeing the 1-2-3-4 instead of the note names is because this is using tab notation vs standard music notation.
