help me plz ..

    i have zoom 606 processor ... i know it is the worest processor...
    when i played lead on distortion ... the sound does'nt occur clear ..
    when i played lead on (e,b,g) the upper strings gives open string sound ..
    i saw many musicians .. when they play lead ... they do'nt mute the uper strings and the upper strings do'nt give any open sound or disturbance.. .. when they play lead on (e,b) .. like

    e:--2----4----6---7----9--------------------------------(picking)

    thir sound occurs very clearly .....

    they use any trick or they have a very gud processor >???? plz help me..

    it could be 'cause your either not playing properly or your not mutingyour upper strings.
    i dont think theres anything wrong with your processor, and yes guitarists do mute their upper strings, i.e. with their palm.

    can any one give me a wonderful trick for muting ..?

    well i am left handed on guitar .. when i tried to mute with thumbi could'nt stratch my fingures properly ...
    i watched the lead guitarist in "VOICE OF INDIA":cool: program he did'nt mute the upper strings(he was plaing on distortion) and the sound was superb i mean it was too clear sound ... so how ......
    is it necessory to mute strings (on distortion) ??? if yes than give me a great trick ... i will be very thankful to you.:nw: :nw: :nw: :nw: "

    Mute-ing is a technique. It's not compulsary(sp?).

    Generally when you play stuff like metallica you mute all 6 strings (although you play only on GDAE).

    When your playing Punk or EMO...stuff like greengay you don't mute the strings you just strum like you've never strummed before

    I do mute the three strings (E A D) with the palm.
    Place the palm on the bridge as well as hold it in a manner by which u just touch the surface below ur thumb on those upper 3 strings. Dont over mute the strings or else u wont get the proper Clear Punchy & Distorted tone from it. I always keep the Gain knob on the amplifier to the max as well as i keep the trebble Knob on my guitar to the Max.
    Try it and let me know if it works for u ;-)

    Yeah i do get that PUNCHY Distorted Sound by doing it.....

    i have understood .. on tv ,the guitarist mute wid palm...
