Great Indian Rock 2006

OK GUYS HERE IS THE LATEST NEWS FROM THE TOWN

Levi's GIR will celebrate it's 10th year this February 2006. GIR will happen this year in Delhi on the 17-18-19th of February 2006. 12 Indian Bands will compete, 3 Indian bands will headline, and 3 International bands will perform too.
Mumbai will have a mini-1-day-GIR too on the 25th of February



The bands and songs selected to perform in are:


Demonic Resurrection - Apocalyptic Dawn (Mumbai)

Acrid Semblance - Genesis (New Delhi) :rock:

The Superfuzz - What I Really Think (New Delhi) :rock:

Split - Pig Society (Mumbai)

Joint Family - Drummers Advice (New Delhi) :rock:

Medusa - Pseudo Weepy (Mumbai)

Prestorika - Psycophant (New Delhi) :rock:

Mantra - X Generation (Darjeeling)

Magdalene - Life Beyond (Aizawl)

Nakshatra - Beyond Sight (New Delhi) :rock:

Descant - Now (New Delhi) :rock:

Cassinis Division - Only For A While (Calcutta)


and there will be 3 so called ' international bands' will also be performing there. havent listen to any ,except one i.e FREAK KITCHEN
other two are

ELCACO

and

YOURCODENAMEIS: MILO


also there is some fuzz that an 8 member delegation from Norwegian Rock Industry consisting of labels, festival promoters, journalists etc. will come to GIR to check out the Indian Rock scene and connect with bands, managers, and fest organizers in India.

 

what all bands will play in Mumbai????

 

hey i dont think all these can perform just in one day.........

well one thing is for sure it woun;t be as big as delhi's as i have written IT WILL BE A MINI 1 DAY GIR

right now i dont have any info which bands will be playiin in mumbai

and finally there's sumthing happening in Delhi and NOT MUMBAI!(well almost not in mumbai.delhi-3 dayz..mumbai-ONLY ONE day!!hehahaha!!)

 

hmm..they did start out good.
But over the years they got repetitive and lost their touch . Kept playing the same old covers . They've just made a few OC's too , around 2 i think .

The band which's doing the rounds nowadayz is Joint Family. The main reason = THEY PLAY Nu-METAL . . I hate them too haha....
But their tightness is professional .

i saw them perform live at the numero uno rockout at pragati maidan....
they gave me bhayanak maut..... :shock:

they anrn't boring .

on 26th jan i at 7 pm there was a show on campus rock idols on VH1(in which they aired the songs which were performed there by all finalist) if u would have watched that show you would not have said them boring.

of all the bands that had performed there in goa the superfuzz was the only one who were able to put up really ORIGINAL performance.

although the vocalist and the lead guitarist had the hairs like beatles (he looked like some guy from 60's) but he sang and played really well

i dunno how many of u like them but i like the guy Mattias "IA" Eklundh who is
Guitar & Vocals he is preety good

dunno which song they would be playiin there i would love to here them play "speak when spoken to" ..........its a really good 1

they scratched out BigMuff cuz they finally realised how cheesy their name was...though it aint any better now.
