Must be one of my favourite opeth songs. Just love the sing along melody bit. I thought that it was just a catchy thing and i might grow out of it,but that never seems to happen.

I think even though theyre one of my favourite bands (i LOVE them) and very talented, theyre somewhat overrated. somewhat like tool is. :think:

I used to think the same till Damnnation....and when they signed Roadrunner. Infact I was expecting Ghost Reveries to be more of a Damnation 2....but they proved me wrong.

 

I dont think they are overrated, but they've become some sort of a fashion statement now. I mean, there were hardly any people who knew them, forget 'liked' them till last year. But somewhere in the middle of last year, when news of their new album broke out, everyone suddenly started liking them. Its annoying really, I see people wearing these opeth t-shirts, but have no clue about say songs on still life or my arms your hearse. Right now, its 'cool' to like them, so you have all these mallcore kids liking them. Lets see how long that'll last. Same with Tool id say. But tool's better off here atleast, everyone hates them, cant stand Maynards voice:

 

^^^^^Haha...that happens with many bands when it comes to this genre. but its a phase which eventually fades out--an album gains popularity....posers lov the band----listen to earlier stuff....and slowly get bored.

btw....did u say Opeth tees....do we get those in India??

Haan ..at least Delhi mein milta hai for sure...in Palika Bazaar.
For Opeth fans, btw..please check out Agalloch also. Same folk/metal mix..but more depressing and not as heavy.
