does anyone use a mac out here for recording

Ask her to pick up a Digi002 from a seconds shop somewhere..

 

shell be lost...she had trouble even gettin me a guitar strap..and she didnt get it for me in the end....tho she did buy me the new malmsteen album.

 

i own a 3 year old dual proc g4 mac 867 MhZ with 1 gig ram and have digi001,002 and the mbox of which i use the 001 as a glorified sound card to play mp3 these days.. :S , used to use the mbox on live shows.. with my sony vaio providing thr firepower of all the softsynths i wanted.. then my vaio died one day . very happy with digi002. software wise i have the protools 6.2 since i am on 10.2 jaguar.. and i use propellerhead reason a lot (usually rewire it into pro tools). MOTU DP4 in my opinion is the best music software around.. if i were to start from the scratch now I would get a dual proc g5, a motu 896 interface and Dp4 software/ But I have no complaints from protools. its rock solid on os x and has never crashed when i am recording. (it always crashing when i am usiong safari and browsing

here are some sample recordings of mine:
1>used a dean exotica acoustic electric for this one and also miced it using sm57. i then stereo mixed the 2 tracks with the smh57 providing natural room reverb. drums are from a korg karma.. and the techno synth stuff u may hear if u observe carefullly is done on reason.

2>time pass recording of an ali hamza song.. i like the guitar tone.. pardon my vocals and wrong lyrics..
guitars on this is a cheap yamaha acoustic i bought for 50 bucks years ago.. but which i still use.. miced thru sm57.. i use some software effects on this and some heavy compression to.. i play the riff in Open G position capo'ed at the 3rd fret.

3>this was done on my old digi001 on my old pc.. i forgot the config now.. def low end.. and i had big trouble mixing it back in 2001 everything maxed out.. cpu ram etc .this recording prompted me to upgrade to my mac
