Ok...by now u know my PC is cursed as u can see my regular posting in this forum :p: but thankfully i have no problem since i've got my PC reinstalled just the sound driver prob!

Anyways now for what i've created this thread>

I have nearly 1gb of songs which are my most fave...(used to have 3gb but lost  ) now due to my previous bad xp wid my computer i'm afraid, what if i lose this remaining 1gb. How do i save this 1gb sumwhere so that if my pc goes mad again, but my songs would would be safe and i can get em back!...a nice option is burning all on CDs..but i have no money left for buying a cd writer after i bought a branded extra ram for this PC which costed me 3k excluding some repairs!:

i know i sound silly : but im a desperate music lover and if ur too..then u'll know how much it hurts to lose ur hard earned collection and i've already faced it twice!

what should i do?..any possible way to keep this 1 gb safe? :help: sumwhere sumhow!

any whacky/silly/useful/rubbish suggestions welcomed if u think they might help

Hey vini, keep those songs in a drive where the OS is not installed... e.g. if ur OS is installed in the C:\ drive keep those songs in D or E drive. In this way if u have to reinstall the OS or for that matter format the C drive and reinstall the OS again , u wont loose the data in other drives....

    ^^true...
put ur songs in the drive other than ur OS..
so that when u re-install ur PC u can have all ur songs safe...
by formatting ur OS u wont loose any of ur data in the other drives..

if u hav 1 partition in ur hard drive.... then get a another partition made by a PC shop or wateva....like if u got only drive C (where da OS is installed) get another drive partition made like D.... then get ur songs copied over there... which wud b pretty safe...even if the windows gets corrputed...n u havto reinstall the OS...

cd writers are cheap....u get for 1100 rs...that too decent ones..

if u cant afford that get a friends HDD and tranfer ur songs there.

or get a friends cd writer and burn the songs there

    damn ur lucky...i had 30Gbs...now I got just 4.5 :cry1:
and have to rely on udhari :Worried:

yup....just visit some popular hardware mart (try not entering shops with loads of eye candy....avoid shops with AC. they tend to charge more :p: )....insist on a bill

the LG and Samsung ones are pretty cheap.

there's a software called "data recovery". ok i wud say but gets ur data back to some good extent if it wasn't deletd much earlier or if u hvnt overridden ur HDD plates with new data many a times.

@vini, cd writer is good idea but ipod is better choice. i mean it's a bit expensive but 1 gigs for 4k is not bad. so u hv portable songs all the time + 1 gb drive.
