you think that it is wrong . Here are your options -

    E minor scale
    G major scale

    Well Sayantan ,

Bb m ( A#m ) is not the correct scale for sure, Do you mean Bm ?.

    If yes please reply .

However One think is for sure the scale of this song is not that simple ,
otherwise I just post it, instead of taking your opinion . I believe most of the
user are unable to pick the correct scale of this song .

Thats why I'm not posting it right now . If I post it maybe most of you think
that the chords are wrong .

A request to those who have good knowledge , Guys maybe you don't want
the chords of this song but hope other IGTians will , so please post your view
about the scale of this song.

And Apple singh I have the chords of this song but I am not going to post it if
most of the user ( atleast 25 ) are unable to tell me the correct scale , what is the
use of posting chords when most of the guys are unable to pickup the correct scale .

A hint for you - The chord of starting portion of song and STANZA part are not same
I want to know the correct scale of STARTING PORTION and not STANZA part .
However the Humming of Stanza have the same chord as the starting part.

    Waiting for your reply .

    - Thanks

In my opinion this song is in 2 scales, the B major scale and the E minor scale.
The song starts in the B major scale, the Arabian sounding solo, and the song is in the E minor scale!

    Hello Keoraf ,

You got correct scales but still something is missing. As you are a Keyboard
player play the chords along with song and I am sure you are able to recognise
the chord , and yes the line " Woh haseena woh neelam pari " ends in note
    F# .

However lots of thanks to you, as a Senior ( more than 450 posts ) is helping
    a junior ( only 250 posts ) .

    Keoraf Keyboard Player

You are right man, it certainly ends in note F#, i was thinking to use two chords there, but i didn't thought it was necessary, just tried it out what you said and i think the chords that could be used there are B, Bm or the D and in my opinion the B is sounding much better!

    / Em - B /
    Woh haseena woh neelam pari,
    / Em - B /
    kar gayi kaisi jaadugari
    / Em - B /
neend in aankhon se cheen [li] hai
    / C-Em-B /
    dil main bechaniyaan hain bha[ri] --- 2

And this part should also be changed:

    / Em - B /
dil main mere hai dard e disco
    / B /
dard e disco, dard e disco..
    / Em - B /
dil main mere hai dard e disco
    / B /
dard e disco, dard e disco.
    / Em - B /
dil main mere hai dard e disco
    / B /
dard e disco, dard e disco.
    / Em - B /
dil main mere hai dard e disco
    / B-Em /
    [dard] e disco, dard e [di]sco

    Visog praaji ,

Chords post karne hain to kariya nahi to matt kijiye par ye poll to matt
kijiye as I think most of the guys here are just beginners thats why i think
not even 10 people are able to tell the correct scale of this song .

Keoraf your chords are about 88 to 90 percent correct but still not 100
percent (Sorry to say ) yet i think yours is the best chords so far in the
site as far as i know .

Magar yaar mazaa aa gaya Visog ko Aap loagon ne fasa diya .
I will post the chord of atleast first line of this song only after Bjr's comment
    ( Keoraf , i think you know Bjr ) .

Thanks Apple Singh, will wait for your chords!

About the scale of this, i think its in the E Melodic Minor Scale, these are the notes of this scale:

    Up:
    E,F#,G,A,B,C#,D#,E

    Down:
    E,F#,G,A,B,C,D,E

    Edit:
    Down:
    E,D,C,B,A,G,F#,E

E Harmonic Minor with Dominant B

Ohk now lets see if can explain

now this is indian music .. and what we're talkin about (chords) come from western music .. and their system is at times li'l different than ours :help:

So, if u ask me saying that the Scale of the Song is B Major wud be totally wrong:annoyed: . Also this song isn't experimented, so that rules out the possibilty of poly-modal song:think: , or scale changin u may say.

the Scale used here will be "E Harmonic MInor." but the Dominant Chord here is "B Major"

so reffering it as "E Harmonic Minor with Dominant B Major" wud not be wrong.;)

cuz in indian terminology the raga used is known as MARWA. and western music doesn't have any scale convention for this raga. (If they do have then please do let me kno, i'm not a theorist)

    sheermelody Pianist

    A few points:

    1. Harmonic minor is a scale. Not a chord. However, if you consider the song's scale as E harmonic minor with a dominant Bmaj chord, it's correct, because then the notes translate to:

    Code:
    E F# G A B C D#
    1 2 b3 4 5 b6 7

    2. The song is NOT on marwa raaga. Marwa raaga is based on the Marwa That, and it doesn't have a pancham, which is basically going against the very basic structure of dard-e-disco.

    The notes of Marwa are:
    1 b2 3 #4 6 7

    3. Dard-e-disco is primarily based on 4 chords:
B (which is the dominant), Em, Am and C.

    Hey Guys ,

I don't know much about chords because i'm not the one who post chords
here . All of the main members of our group are on tour and i am a part time
singer of that group don't know much about chords , and the main guy who
post here tells me to don't post anything controversial.

But i think most of you i.e keoraf , apple singh , musicman and sheermelody
    are on right track .

Well the scale is no doubt B major .

I think u want to know which chord is used in the line wo hasina wo nilam
pari , according to me that is the main question that confuse most of the
    person's .

Here is the chord of that line -

    wo hasina wo nilam pari
    B................................

Well, i don't think so my friend, in my opinion this should be a minor scale song as i said before, the E Melodic Minor scale and certainly not the B major scale!
I think you are wrong man!!!
