Hi guys! been on IGT after a long time...was searching for this song and came acccross this thread...

i believe the song starts with "Cadd9"....listen to the little "riff" if you would call just before the singing starts...say around 00:08 (in the mp3 which i have)

    Cadd9
    e-------0--------------
    b-------3--------------
    g-------0--------------
    d-------2--------------
    b-------3--------------
    E-------0--------------

    like :

[Cadd9]tere bin main yun k[Em]aise jiya
    [F]kaise ji[G]ya tere [Em]bin

then the thing starts with Am.......

    [Am]lekar yaad te[Em]ri [F]raaten [G]meri ka[Am]ti ...and so on..

then i think thers a Dm here.....

tanha[C] hai tujh bin [Dm]raaten meri
din [C]mere din ke [Dm]jaise nahi

[Am]tanha badan tanha hai ruh nam [G]meri aankhen rahe
    [Am]aaja mere ab rubaru
    [F]jeena nahi bin tere[G]

    ...like that...what do u guys think???

Am and C are indeed closely related in this song as I'll explain.
The right chord to be played here is Am7. That's exactly the reason why both Am and C sound right at this song. I'll explain why. Am7 is built of the notes a-c-e-g. But Am is made of a-c-e and C of c-e-g. This means that both C and Am are part of the chord Am7. So if you play Am or C, you're playing the right chord, except that one note is missing, but you are also not playing any "bad" notes, so it will not sound false to play an Am or C.

    Thanx :)
Most other chords in this song are also septimes, like Em7 and FMaj7.
Right now I'm busy finding the right chords. And I have to admit that having a keyboard is a big advantage to find the right chords for songs...
When I'm done I'll post my version on the forum.
And thanks arnold for always replying on my posts, I really appreciate that :)

    Greetings,
