Alaigal Oaivadhillai – A blockbuster film in the year 1981.

IR got a grand recognition for the music – with 12 songs including 2 carnatic bits

This song is a superb slow melody – By IR and one Jency (one of IR’s favorite)

I have compiled the following using input from this thread, but with slight modification. You can try and suggest if there is any correction.

The chords progression does vary in the Charanam (and so also the notes) and I do not get any clue for the same. Even the “E” in the last line was more better for me though it does not belong to D Major chord progression and so also “F#” (F# minor would be the correct for the root chord).

If someone can tell the logic or the intended variation, it would be a fine learning experience.

This song is a classic example of using “Bossa Nova” style. If you want to get the original feel of the song, you should try Bossa Nova strumming rhythm. I have not tried this – it comes good in acoustic guitars.
