I have a FR Special on my ESP MH-350 and it regularly loses tension, which makes the bridge collapse and makes the guitar unplayable. Is it possible to upgrade to an origingal Floyd Rose or a professional model without making any special adjustments on the guitar. The reason I ask is that I was told that I would not be able to, but I it seems that if the bridges are the same size that it would not be a problem. Is this possible and has anyone done this? Thanks
It can be done but you would need a professional luthier to do it for you and cost wise it will cost you around 25k, i have personally not tried it, but it is possible just so you should know. But i would recommend against it because there are simply too many things that could go wrong.
IMO it would cost you somewhere around 10 k anyway you need to contact a luthier for that estimate ... 25k for routing and fitting OFR would be too much I think :S
