depends on what u play.....i usually prefer lighter ones for rhythm and heavier once for leads....i have some 12 plecs.....i remember during th IGT chat some dude had said he had 35.....
    i have..
    GIbson tear drop..light very light
    JD Nylon .88
    JD Nylon .73
    JD Derlin 1.5
    JD Derlin 1.14
    JD Tortex 1.0 ........X2
    JD Tortex 1.14
    JD Big Stuby 2.0
    Clayton 1.00 triangle
    2 Is there love in space plecs..mebbe .88 s

the .73s are mostly for rhythm....88s gimme a good tone with both
the tortex or should i say..the tortices are purely for leads....thats the way i like it
the derlins give an amazing jazzy kinda tone.....but by far nothin beats the stubby.....well, mebbe the is there love in space plecs.....these babies have amazing attack.....

after going thru tons of picks i find big stubby 3.0mm the best ..
jim dunlops nylon are good as well but they dont give you tone at all ..
but they are good for making that "chik chik" sound of muted chords .. goes well in rhythm

these days i am trying out delrins and carbonfibre picks from the pickfactory (online custom pick makers) they are cool as well .. if u live in mainland europe you can email them and ask them to send you some picks for free before you order any .. i particularly like their tear drop picks ..

    slash uses tortex 1.14.......
but am not too fond of em........
when it comes to leads...stubbies rock.....
they are the best.....something about tortex which i just dont like........
stubbies are like greased lightening......so smooth .....cuts like a hot knife thru butter......and that exquiste tone they give........

speaking of plectrums...have any of u tried using wierd things as plecs....
i had posted this sometime back too...
    i had used coins.....
the one rupee coin gives a nice twangy kinda tone........cool one tho

the karz theme sounds superb if i play it with a stainless steel pik ... u can also substitue it with a 10paisa or a 1 rupee new coin ( usualy 10p coins are made of a different material some kind of metal wich gives a very different type of sound )
any ways ... my problem is that i get a click click noice from my guitar if i strum ( it comes from the plectrum ) for example .. i can play the chords of woh lamhe jal accurately but it does not sound the same... there is a sharpness in my tone .. i own a hobner 265 .. so is there sumthing wrong with me or is it with my pik ... can u give me suggestions on what to do

I dont use plectrum at all. I play lead with fingures only. Little bit nails suffice.

^ damn it!! you cant get those speeds even WITH the picks!!! :p

just wondering ... how long does a pick last you? i mean what was the longest time that you used a pick before you lost it ...
for me ..a pick lasts between 2 to 3 weeks ... then i lose it .. dunno how but they just seem to vanish into something ... man if i ever find all those lost picks i would be swiming in them ... cross ma heart

All my picks are black, and the floor of my room is black. I lose picks easily.
