    Beginnning Guitar Lessons

Hey looks like noone posted in this forum so i decided to. Im gonna help out beginning gtaritsts.

    1. guns n roses lessons on guitar

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

if u begin guitar and dont know tabs. Look for a tab learning post. At this point u should know how to read tab. Tune ur gtar. and the strings, frets, and other basics.

Dont know tabs? here - https://indianguitartabs.com/showthread.php?t=153
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now if you want to be the more Rocker kind of guy thinkin "i want to be a rockstar" then this is for u.

First you need to learn the basic powerchords. Lets start here

    e--------------------
    b--------------------
    g--------------------
    d--------------------
    a-----2--4--5-6-7-8-9
    e-----0--2--3-4-5-6-7

these are common rock powerchords. Now play them. after try them on the
D and A strings. Like this:

    d-----2--4--5-6-7-8-9
    a-----0--2--3-4-5-6-7

    should be easy.

    Now lets try some chords.

    e----0---0--0-0-0-0-0-
    b----0---0--0-0-0-0-0-
    g----1---3--4-5-6-7-8-
    d----2---4--5-6-7-8-9-
    a----2---4--5-6-7-8-9-
    e----0---2--3-4-5-6-7-

Play them slowly strum. they should sound nice and clear.

Now lets try a riff combination.

    e----------------------0----
    b----------------------0----
    g----------------------1----
    d-----4---2------------2----
    a-----2---0---2------- 2----
    e-------------0--------0----

This is a combo of powerchords and a chord. There are maany types of chords. G, C, and many many more.

Now lets see how much you have learned. Play this riff.

    e----------1-----------------3--------------7-
    b----------1-----------------3--------------7-
    g----------2----------0------0--------------6-
    d----------3----------0------0--------------7-
    a-----2----3-------2--2--2---2-----4---5---7-
    e-----0----1-------0--3--0---3-----2---3---5-

keep trying till u got it good. If you can do it ur doin fine.

now we'll combine simple notes with this Chord Combo

    e---2--------------------
    b---2--------------------
    g---3--------------------
    d---4----------4---------
    a---4---2---4----2---5--
    e---2----------------3--

This is a small taste of guitar.

now lets move onto hammering and pullofs in guitar songs

hammering is when u pick or hit a note and immediately press an another note on the fretboard without strumming

    for example

    e------------------------
    b------------------------
    g------------------------
    d------------------------
    a------------------------
    e------0h2------2h4-----

here you would hit an open E and then immediately put your finger onto the 2nd fret on the E without strumming a 2nd time. Now you would hit the 2nd fret and immediatley move your other finger and press on the 4th fret of the
E string you should already know to hammer and pull off when we started the first topic.

    lets try this:

    e--------------------------11------------------
    b----------------9h10h11-------9-------9p7----
    g-----------------------------------------------
    d-----------------------------------------------
    a-----------------------------------------------
    e-----------------------------------------------

Keep repeating because hammering high notes is important.
    Now lets try bends.
bending is basically bending the string in whichever fret your holding
you should know in some tabs u may have to bend up or down.

Next try bending up to a higher semitone

    e-----------------------
    b-----------------------
    g-----------------------
    d------4b-------4b5----
    a-----------------------
    e-----------------------

That shouldnt be hard. Lets try a little bending and hammerimg

    e---------------------------------------------------
    b----------------------------------------------------
    g-----------6------6--6--6--- 6----------------------
    d---4-4h6-----4--6--5--4-----4-4b--2---4--4b--2--4-
    a--------------------------------------3---------3---3
    e----------------------------------------------------

If you have everything down from before this should be easy.

You should know all the basics of rock. If i frgt anythin post it back in. ALso

    reccomended beginning rock songs:

    AC/DC - Thunderstruck/TNT
Metallica - Enter Sandman/Fade to Black
Deep Purple - Smoke on the water/Highway star
Led Zeppelin - Houses of The Holy

    Have fun.

    no......

the elementary building block for the power chord is the pairing of the root note and its perfect fifth. i.e. the fifth note in its scale...for example in the scale of E, B is its perfect fifth...in G scale its perfect fifth is D n so on....
it does NOT contain ne major or minor 3rd.

n power chords r also known as 5chord or 5th, for example, an E power chord can b shown as 'E5'...

  10. jayanth

    jayanth <.: : Call Quits : :.>

    Power chords have Suspended chords..

  11. 6String_assasin

    6String_assasin The Painkiller

oh well then we would all appreciate it if u explain that a bit, instead of adding one to your no. of posts and also confusing sum people here with that meaningless, useless statement. :annoyed:
also IF possible, give examples (now that it seems necessary to explain questions/doubts to u).
    (no offense meant) :) :p

  12. 6String_assasin

    6String_assasin The Painkiller

a powerchord is a chord which contains no 3rd (suspended chords, and chords containing 3 or more notes exempted). technically, a powerchord is not really a true "chord" because, by definition, a "chord" has to have a minumum of 3 notes.
n so they can b messed up to have messed up sounds...but then u dun give them a name then! :annoyed:

    jayanth <.: : Call Quits : :.>

Ok.. Listen to The Unforgive 2.. Ok the intro he plays two strings alternated.. When you check out which chord structures he plays, Its actually Suspended. They are actually Not Suspended chords.. But we know Kirk Hammet he can come up with anything new..

  14. 6String_assasin

    6String_assasin The Painkiller

ok whatever i'll check that out, but it was just that habit of urs giving 1 line statements that irritated me....neways..dun take that seriously...cya in bangalore

  15. 6String_assasin

    6String_assasin The Painkiller

n wots the chord structure by the way?

  16. jayanth

    jayanth <.: : Call Quits : :.>

A chord structure is a geometrical description of placement of fingers on the fretboard to build a Chord...

I didnt take that serioulsy.. i didnt know how to explain that. So i didnt. Then i did little research and gave you that example..

  17. 6String_assasin

    6String_assasin The Painkiller

er...were u trying to explain me wot a chord structure is??????
i meant, TELL me the chord structure of that 'suspended powerchords' u IMAGIMED :annoyed:

  18. jayanth

    jayanth <.: : Call Quits : :.>

Look dude. I dont have tabs of that song.. Search for Unforgiven 2 in the Album RELOAD. You'll get the first intro Distortion part.. All those notes are Suspended.. And they are Power chords..

A major chord or a minor chord is formed when a major third or minor third intevl is added to a group of noted. This group of notes are the tonic, the fifth, and the tonic again. Power chords don't have this interval. I have the entire works on power chords.
